"Dancing should be fun, uplifting and build kids self esteem," says Just Dance owner, Carla Bedford. Dancers from all ages are taught to fall in love with movement, to find their own niche and ignite a passion for body awareness. Carla started dancing at four, which lead her to England to Dance School and she now brings the focus of a nurtured dance environment back to northland. Carla also runs Pilates classes and loves the opportunity that she has to change lives through fitness and dance"
" I grew up in Russell, but have called Whangarei home now for over 10 years. My love for dance started at 5 years old, trying many styles before focusing on Jazz. I also have a passion for health, fitness and movement completing a degree in Sport and Recreation through AUT. This has given me knowledge and resources to encourage and help others discover their love for movement and dance. For me it's all about loving what you do and having fun, I hope to help kids at 'just dance' discover and enjoy their passion for dance."
"I have been classically trained since the age of four and since that first lesson dance has been my passion. I am now training at an advanced level for Ballet and Contemporary. Home-schooled my whole life, now I’m studying NCEA through correspondence, including Art and Dance. For me, dance is my happy place. The movement makes me feel free, like I could do anything, and I hope to bring that passion to the students at ‘just dance’."
"From an early age I have always had a passion for dancing, singing and theatre. I started dancing with Mendyl Creative Dance school when I was four and continued with Ballet and Jazz through Dance Inc Northland until my final year of High School completing major examinations in both genres. I was involved with many dance productions including; Alice in Wonderland, Nutcracker, Don Quixote, and Coppelia. I was involved in Miss Saigon in 2011 with the Whangarei Theatre Company and Grease the following year. I am 21 years old and am a primary school teacher at St Joseph’s in Dargaville. I completed my studies at The University of Auckland. I continued dancing while I was at university and am excited to start teaching at just dance."
Originally from Slovakia I received my dance training at the Dance Conservatory Banska Bystrica before joining Študio tanca Professional dance theater/Zuzana Hajková. I also graduated in Physical theater for dancers and actors from the Royal Holloway University of London. Using my experience I created my own style that I love to teach. I think everybody can dance and teaching dance gives me great joy.
